1. For stainless steel pipe fittings, the arc should be started using the back-welding method, and the arc should be terminated using the method of creating a full arc crater. The arc starting process should be completed within the slope; arcing and starting should not be done on the surface of the stainless steel pipe or fitting's main body. If cracks or porosity are found during the arc starting process, they should be cleaned immediately.
2. When hoisting stainless steel pipe fittings, they should be kept away from other metals to avoid direct contact. This can be achieved by using non-metallic materials such as wooden boards or rubber mats for isolation.
3. During continuous welding of stainless steel pipe fittings, the temperature should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius. During tack welding, the inside of the weld should be protected with argon gas. Ordinary abrasive wheels should not be used when cutting stainless steel pipe fittings; special abrasive wheels for stainless steel pipe fittings or plasma cutting should be used.
4. When connecting stainless steel pipe fittings with non-stainless steel pipe fittings, the inside of the stainless steel pipe and any cavities should be filled with argon gas before the root pass welding of the butt joint. Only then can tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding be performed. After the weld at the joint is completed, it must be pickled and passivated.
