For large-diameter flanges made from medium plates, the treatment of the joint position is crucial; poor welding at this position will lead to leakage. For forged large-diameter flanges, there is a layer of outer skin after the flange is finished. If the bolt holes are drilled precisely into this layer, leakage will occur during pressure testing.
