Several Forms of Steel Rolling

According to the deformation principle of rolled parts, steel rolling is generally divided into the following three forms:

1. Longitudinal rolling: the running direction (axis) of the rolled piece is perpendicular to the axis of the roll, and the rolled piece moves in a straight line; steel and plate production and continuous rolling of seamless steel pipes (one rolled piece is rolled in two or more holes at the same time Rolling in the shape or frame is called continuous rolling), etc. all belong to longitudinal rolling.
2. Cross rolling: The running direction (axis) of the rolled piece is parallel to the axis of the roll, and the rolled piece makes a rotary motion; the production of motorcycle hubs, bicycle axles, etc. belongs to cross rolling.
3. Cross rolling: The running direction (axis) of the rolled piece is neither perpendicular nor parallel to the axis of the roll. In addition to the forward movement, the rolled piece also rotates its axis and makes a spiral forward motion; the most common seamless steel pipe perforation (Except for push-rolling piercing and extrusion piercing) production is cross-rolling; three sets of ASSEL rolled pipes are also cross-rolled.
