First, what are the production methods of boiler steel pipes?

Boiler steel pipes are a type of seamless steel pipe. The manufacturing method is the same as that of seamless steel pipes, but there are strict requirements on the steel grades used. Based on the operating temperature, they are divided into general boiler steel pipes and high-pressure boiler steel pipes. The mechanical properties of boiler steel pipes are important indicators to ensure the final performance (mechanical properties) of the steel, and they depend on the chemical composition and heat treatment regime of the steel. In steel pipe standards, tensile properties (tensile strength, yield strength, or yield point, elongation), hardness, toughness, and high and low temperature performance requirements are specified according to different usage requirements.

① General boiler steel pipes are used at temperatures below 350℃. Domestically produced steel pipes are mainly manufactured using No. 10 and No. 20 carbon structural steel hot-rolled pipes or cold-drawn pipes.

② High-pressure boiler steel pipes are frequently used under high temperature and high pressure conditions. Under the action of high-temperature flue gas and water vapor, the steel pipes will undergo oxidation and corrosion. High creep strength, high resistance to oxidation and corrosion, and good structural stability are required.


Second, what are the uses of boiler steel pipes?

① General boiler steel pipes are mainly used to manufacture water-cooled wall tubes, boiling water tubes, superheated steam tubes, superheated steam tubes for locomotive boilers, large and small smoke tubes, and arch brick tubes, etc.

② High-pressure boiler steel pipes are mainly used to manufacture superheater tubes, reheater tubes, steam pipes, and main steam pipes for high-pressure and ultra-high-pressure boilers, etc. The overall supply and demand trend of the high-pressure boiler steel pipe industry is stable; however, the supply and demand situation in specific sub-sectors will further differentiate. Industry insiders point out that the most crucial link is the use and promotion of new energy-saving and heat-insulating 20g high-pressure boiler steel pipe equipment.


Third, how to handle inconsistent boiler steel pipe wall thicknesses?

When boiler steel pipe wall thicknesses are inconsistent, compensation shims can be used.

1. The required thickness can be achieved by thickening or thinning the boiler steel pipe wall.

2. In the case of inconsistent boiler steel pipe wall thicknesses, high-strength bolts and washers can be used to compensate for the inconsistent pipe wall thicknesses to achieve the required thickness. 3. In cases where the wall thickness of boiler steel pipes is inconsistent, welding can also be used to compensate for the inconsistency and achieve the required thickness.
