What materials are used for anti-corrosion treatment of spiral welded steel pipes

The materials used in the anti-corrosion processing of spiral welded steel pipes play a decisive role in the quality of the anti-corrosion steel pipes. During the anti-corrosion process, the raw materials must be strictly tested, as different anti-corrosion processes require different anti-corrosion materials.

1. Epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion of spiral welded steel pipes mainly uses asphalt anti-corrosion paint and polypropylene non-woven fabric.

2. The main raw materials used for 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes are polyethylene and polypropylene.

3. Cold-applied tape refers to adhesive tape used for anti-corrosion wrapping. Cold-applied tape generally includes polyethylene (composite) anti-corrosion tape, polypropylene reinforced fiber anti-corrosion tape, aluminum foil UV-resistant anti-corrosion tape, polyethylene 660 type (modified asphalt) tape, double-sided adhesive anti-corrosion inner tape (this type of tape is rarely used domestically, but is very useful and widely used abroad, generally for export), and epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion tape. The applicable standards are SY/T 0414-98 and SY/T0447-96.

4. Epoxy resin anti-corrosion spiral steel pipes primarily utilize epoxy resin composite coatings, phenolic epoxy coatings, and polymer composite materials.

5. Cement mortar is mainly suitable for cement mortar anti-corrosion steel pipes.

6. Heat-shrinkable tape is generally used for joint repair of anti-corrosion steel pipes. It is designed for anti-corrosion repair of welded joints in buried and overhead spiral steel pipes and for insulation repair of insulated steel pipes. It is composed of a radiation cross-linked polyolefin substrate and special sealing hot melt adhesive. The special sealing hot melt adhesive can form excellent adhesion with the polyolefin substrate, the surface of the spiral steel pipe, and the solid epoxy coating. Cold-applied tape and 3PE heat shrinkable tape are characterized by their applicability to spiral steel pipes with various materials as the main anti-corrosion layer, while other methods are suitable for spiral steel pipes with the same or similar materials as the main anti-corrosion layer.
