3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is no stranger to us. Its excellent corrosion resistance makes it a common method for buried steel pipe. However, 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe requires some preparation before burial. Before burying the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe, the surrounding area must be cleaned. Surveying and layout personnel must provide technical briefings to the supervisors and machine operators involved in the cleanup. At least one lineman must participate in the clearing of the work area. Furthermore, it is necessary to check that the 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe, crossing piles, and underground structure markers have been moved to the side of the spoil, and that all above-ground and underground structures have been counted and cleared.
In general areas, mechanical operations can be performed using a bulldozer to clear debris within the work area. However, when burying 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe over obstacles such as ditches, ridges, and steep slopes, it is necessary to find a way to ensure the passage of transportation and construction equipment. The construction work area should be as clear and level as possible. If surrounding farmland, fruit trees, or vegetation are present, occupation of farmland and orchards should be minimized. If pipes are laid in deserts or saline-alkali land, damage to surface vegetation and undisturbed soil should be minimized to prevent and reduce soil erosion. When passing through irrigation and drainage channels, pre-buried culverts and other water-passing systems should be used to ensure they do not interfere with agricultural production.
We previously introduced 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe, which is a three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion coating. The choice of coating directly affects the performance and quality of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe. Before understanding the coating, let's briefly review the advantages of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe: it combines the mechanical strength of steel pipe with the corrosion resistance of plastic; the outer wall coating is at least 2.5mm thick, making it scratch-resistant and impact-resistant; the inner wall has a low friction coefficient, which reduces energy consumption; the inner wall of the steel pipe meets national hygiene standards and is safe and harmless; the inner wall is smooth and does not easily scale, and has excellent self-cleaning properties.
To achieve the optimal benefits of corrosion-resistant steel pipes, coatings must meet the following three requirements:
- Excellent corrosion resistance: The coating formed by the coating is the core of the corrosion protection of 3PE steel pipes. The coating must be stable when exposed to corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, salts, industrial wastewater, and chemical atmospheres. It must not be corroded, dissolved, or decomposed by these substances, and must not chemically react with the media to prevent the formation of new harmful substances.
- Excellent impermeability: To effectively prevent the penetration of highly permeable liquids or gases and prevent them from corroding the steel pipe surface, the coating must have excellent impermeability.
- Good adhesion and flexibility: The steel pipe and coating must be well bonded, preventing them from cracking or even falling off due to vibration or slight deformation. This ensures the corrosion resistance of the steel pipe. Therefore, the coating must have good adhesion and a certain level of mechanical strength.
